Waking Up Anew
You think you know me
That you've got me figured out
But there is more to me than what you see
The things that I don't show
it appears to be unknown, as to what I hold inside
what i used to deem important, now, is what i have cast aside
I once lived in a state of confusion
my everyday was a step in the dark
Blinded by the evils that held me, I thought I knew the way
But like a dim light leaking through a forest's canopy
Truth, Love and Peace were seeking to encompass me
And once I caught a glimpse of what was on the other side,
I asked the Lord our Savior to forever be my guide
So you thought you knew me
that you had me figured out
but I'm a new creation now
Of that I have no doubt
For Jesus knew me all along
And to His cross my spirit's drawn
