Tabitha's Closet
This is a vital church ministry at First Christian Church of Independence.
In the 2011-2012 school year, over 850 children have already been helped to prepare for school with shoes, socks, underwears, pants, shirts and a jacket! These children are looking good, their parents are encouraged and God's love flows back and forth as families enjoy "shopping" with the help of FCC"s volunteers.
In the 2010-2011 school year, Tabitha's served 400 families and gave clothing to 1,225 children from 30 schools. We gave out 800 pairs of new shoes, and over a thousand pairs of jeans, shirts and other clothing.

This is the largest number of children and families served in our 10 year history.
